Mattia Bonetti’s Imaginative Furnishings

Over a 45-year career, Mattia Bonetti has straddled manifold disciplines, from textiles to photography to interiors. Showing under the aegis of David Gill Gallery, the designer reveals why his furnishings are frequently tagged as “whimsical” or “surreal.”

Sinuous lines flow through various media in tables like acrylic Bubblegum, stainless steel Yo-Yo, and glazed fiberglass DW4. Bonetti also proves his proclivity for color in the Cut Out sofa, covered in a collage of leathers, and the Happy Birthday cabinet, the aluminum-leafed wood structure bedecked in supersize blossoms and secured with a cast-bronze bow.
