Durkan’s latest carpet collection evokes the subtle nuances of ink painting. The Liike collection, which debuted at HD Expo 2017, translates designer Yelena Rodina’s ink paintings into luxury flooring for hospitality projects. Defined by dynamic wave-like motions and swirling paterns, Rodina’s paintings feature rich colors that seamlessly flow together.
“When I adapted my ink paintings to carpet, I used special techniques to create a 3-D look,” Rodina says. “The use of low loop, metallic yarn, and double density changed the appearance dramatically.”
Liike is made using Definity™, Durkan’s exclusive manufacturing technology. Definity surpasses traditional carpet by offering multi-level textures, superior performance, and unmatched sustainability. Definity’s multi-level cut and loop capabilities let Rodina translate ink patterning into expressive flooring.
